The first process of edge banding is pre-milling. Good edge banding quality must have the process of pre-milling. Pre-milling is to pass the board through two pre-milling cutters with different rotation directions (front pre-milling is reverse rotation, rear pre-milling is forward rotation), and cut off the excess edges (about 20 wires). Pre-milling can remove the slight unevenness and cracks on the cutting surface of the board, so that the edge banding strip and the board are more firmly bonded, and can effectively avoid the phenomenon of pinholes and pores after edge banding. Commonly used pre-milling cutters now include welded diamond pre-milling cutters, discarded diamond pre-milling cutters, and discarded alloy pre-milling cutters.

For melamine veneer, paper veneer, fireproof board, thin aluminum veneer, wood veneer veneer trimming and cutting, the noise is extremely low, and the processed material can obtain a better surface finish.
